Scotland’s National Carer Organisations have launched a website to provide a one-stop online portal of training for carers and those who work with them.
CarerTraining.org is an e-learning platform offering opportunities to take part in online courses for carers or care practitioners.
The site has been established using funding from the Scottish Government and is managed by Carers Trust Scotland as part of the National Carer Organisations (NCOs) group. The NCO also includes the Scottish Young Carers Services Alliance, Coalition of Carers in Scotland, Carers Scotland, MECOPP Carers Centre, and Shared Care Scotland.
A carer is anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction, cannot cope without their support.
CarerTraining.org will host resources covering a variety of topics that affect carers’ lives, such as Self-directed Support, young carers, mental health and wellbeing.
This website will enable any carer or care practitioner from across Scotland to access free training that can support them in their crucial role and keep them informed of carer training information.
